Carved from a column of stone, mounted on a steel base, Thought Cage is bold in its simplicity. The polished interior contrasts with the raw, unaltered exterior and the brutalist 1” thick steel plate base and clamp.

Thought Cage encourages the observer to examine the world from different perpectives. “We all can fall into the trap of believing our truth is the only truth when really there are many truths,” says Curtis. “I made an object to illustrate this idea.” The sculpture invites viewers to avoid the ‘thought cage’ by keeping an open mind.”
